GUATEMALA

December 2012-January 2013

These pictures display my host family in Guatemala.  We only communicated in Spanish because they did not know English well.  This family consisted of a mom and a dad, three kids; two boys and a girl, a dog, and a cat.  They hosted several students while I was living with them for the five weeks.

To the left is a picture of some of the girls I would feed lunch to at a "street children" project I worked at.  These girls would come in off of the streets every day to play and have lunch.  There were nine total siblings in this particular family.

To the right is a picture of the school room that I taught English it at the street children project.  I would have a group of about 15 to 20 students each day that would range in age from 6 years old to 14 years old.  I taught them basic English words and phrases such as foods, colors, greetings, numbers, and more.
